Sheriff - Wild West TTRPG
A downloadable game
As you ride over the ridge your eyes are treated to mountains, lush forests, and rivers. Below the mountains is the open prairie stretching out for as far as you can see. There is the occasional cattle ranch, but otherwise it is a sea of grass.
Nestled along the edge of the prairie is your new home, Independence. There is so much potential here both for you and your new home. As you ride into town, you find usual establishments: general store, boarding house, bank, doctor, gunsmith, saloon, and the town jail. The locals don’t recognize you but that doesn’t stop them from tipping a hat to you as you pass. There are trappers and prospectors, farmers and tradesmen, some by themselves and others with their families. All of them have the same pull of potential as you have.
The stage coach from the big city comes about once a month but there are various wagons moving between the other small frontier towns, mills, mines, and ranches. Society functions for the most part fairly well out here on its own, but you know that it is far from perfect or you wouldn’t be here. People get ornery sometimes, which often leads them to taking up a get rich scheme that leads to theft or murder. This is why you are here. You and your gun have been hired to ensure society functions fairly well.

Hey
I love Wild West games and this one looks interesting. I'm starting a freelance copy editing service and would love to include an example in my portfolio.
Would it be okay if I used this game as a sample for a private or public before/after edit, purely to showcase my editing skills? I'd of course give credit and won't publish it beyond the portfolio.
No worries at all if not --- just wanted to check in and ask permission first.
Thanks
That sounds fine. Please send it to me when you're done and I'll post it crediting you and linking to your website/portfolio if you'd like.
Hey I went through and did some copy editing for the game. It was a lot of fun. I like Westerns so I'm predisposed to like a game like this. I also like that the game is so rules lite and narrative focused. Please email me at nathanhallcopyediting@gmail.com and I'll share my suggested changes with you.
